“Our brain is RAM not a HARD DISK, Use it for processing not for storing data”
The above line has been a benchmark for me. Inspired by GTD(Getting Things Done by David Allen) I am able to setup some rules in my life to get it sorted. I would like to thanks Saurabh for introducing me to this book.

We will distribute the post into 3 parts

  • Planning
  • Tools
  • Execution

Planning

Your working desk should have everything that you need while working so that you don’t have to leave it. Some of the things that should be on your working desk are

  • Pen (Black, Blue)
  • Scissor
  • Cutter
  • Sticky note
  • Sketch pen (multi color)
  • Highlighter
  • Stapler
  • A4 sheets
  • Notebook
  • Paper clip
  • Board pin(If you have pin board)
  • Rubber band
  • Magic Tape
  • White Board Marker (if you have white board)
  • Board Cleaner (if you have white board)
  • Permanent Marker
  • Ear plugs (alternative to sound canceling headphones)

###Tools
Below are the tools that I use for implantation of GTD

  • Todoist
    • Android app
    • Chrome extension
    • Desktop app
  • One note
  • Google Calendar
  • Alexa

###Execution
Below are the steps to implement the GTD

  • Empty your mind
    • Write every things that you have on A4 sheet. It can be anything from your future plans to your recurring event like paying bill every month
    • These pointer should be detailed. For example, “paying bill” is not descriptive. Rather it should be “pay electricity bill every month”.
  • Understand Todoist
    • Project
    • Filter
    • Label
    • Due date
  • Integrate Todoist
    • Alexa
    • Google Calendar
    • One note
  • Move all your todos to inbox
  • Sort the todos with project, filter & labels
  • Pomodoro technique (good to have!!)
